A Brief Intro of Wrigley Field- The Home Ballpark of the Chicago Cubs

Wrigley Field was built as Weeghman Park in 1914 for the baseball team Chicago Federal League and famously known to have been the Chicago Cubs home ballpark since 1916. The Field today gets its name from the owner of the Wrigley Company and the then owner of the Cubs team William Wrigley Jr.

Situated in the residential area of Lakeview, the field is surrounded by restaurants, Bars and other public places and the area around the Wrigley Field is often called Wrigleyville! Fondly referred to as the 'Friendly Confines' Wrigley field is the only present federal league park and the most old National League ballpark.

When a game ends, the scoreboard keeper raises either a 'W' in blue on a white flag to signify victory for the cubs or an 'L' in white on a blue Flag to signify a loss.

The current capacity of the field is 41,160, making it the tenth smallest vigorously used ballpark. Apart from its fame of being the home ballpark of the Chicago cubs, Wrigley Field is famous for its unique wind patterns, courtesy Lake Michigan, the ivy covered outfield wall of brick and it's Red Marquee above the main entry gateway.
