The Chicago Art Institute is one of the leading museums in the world for Chicago travelers and it houses some of the collection that span over 5000 years ago. While in the institute there are designated areas where you can park your car like the East Monroe Street and the Millennium garage, the south garage (Michigan Avenue), Grant Park garage.
1. Art Institute Hours
The institute is opened to the public on some designated time. This is to ensure that the visitors to the museums do not tamper with the collections by having somebody who is on standby to ensure that no one misbehaves while in the museum. The operation hours of the museums are as follows:
Monday- Wednesday 10:30 a.m -5:00 p.m
Thursday 10:30 a.m - 8:00 p.m which is payable but after 5:00 p.m to 8:00 p. m it is free entry.
Friday 10:30 a.m- 5:00 p.m
Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m -5:00 p.m.
2. Art Institute Charges
Except for the Thanksgiving Day, Christmas day and New Years Eve the Art institute is opened everyday. He charges to the museums are $18 for adults, children of14 years and over and the seniors of over 65 years are charged $12 but for the children under the age of 14 they are not charged anything, theirs is free entry.
3. About Chicago Art Institute
It showcases tremendous of art materials in different ways. It is however flanked by then bronze lion and has got several art materials in different mediums ranging from painting, drawing, sculptures, textile, print, photography, architectural drawings and videos. There are also some of the traveling exhibits which are being hosted by the Art Institute and include the works of Monet and Van Gogh. It is also home to lectures, workshops and performances which take place almost every day.
