Chicago Opera Theater happens to be one opera company in Chicago city. It was established by Mr. Alan Stone in the year 1974 as what was then known as Chicago Opera Studio. It was aimed to provide a performance experience to the vocal students. Over the years it has developed into an opera company which is highly professional. Chicago's Harris Theater with a seating capacity of 1,525 is the home to this theater company.
During its season of 2009from the 18th of April 18 till 26th of May, the Chicago Opera Theater featured:
- Owen Wingrave by Britten
- La Clemenza di Tito by Mozart and
- La Tragedie de Carmen of Bizet which was adapted through Marius Constant.

4. An evening with Frederica Von Stade as well as Jake Heggie
