Most of the Chicago Taxi cabs do accept credit cards and the drivers are charged for the usage, so it is better to carry some cash and pay the cab driver the cash instead of using your card each time you hire a taxi. Chicago is a vast city and it is widely spread out and Chicago travel tourists do find it difficult to walk from one place to another. When you take a cab within downtown you may not be spending much but it is definitely more comfortable.
