The Volo Bog State Hike Natural Area till date is the most unique among the usual wetlands that are there in the state of Illinois. It is known more for its variety of unusual flora and fauna that make it exotic and attractive. It also has a variety of other sites like the hills, prairies and the dense woods that make the trekking experience unique and memorable.
It was in its early days owned by a dairy farmer but was later transferred to the state. The dairy farm was renovated and now is a park office. The trail of the trek here at the park is exciting with interruptions from the voices of birds hovering over the place. They may include owls, beaver and a coyote.
