The Naval Station Great Lakes is the most famous military base in Chicago that serves for navy training. It is located in Chicago, Illinois in Lake County and is the United States Navy's Headquarters Command.

It was prevalent from the year 1911 which was then established as the largest military installations in Illinois and also the largest training centre serving for Navy.

It consists of important commands like: Recruit Training Centre, Naval Recruiting District Chicago and a Training Support Centre. The base has an area covering 1,628 acres and has 1,153 buildings under its jurisdiction.
