There is only one dog beach in Chicago, IL known as the Montrose Beach. No other beaches in this city allow dogs to roam the premises.

- The dog friendly section is a fenced off area at the north end of the beach

- This dog beach is open during regular hours, but is mostly frequented by dog beach lovers during the morning hours

- DFA tags are required for all the digs and can be availed at the cost of $5

- Dogs are allowed off their leashes within the off leash area and they must remain leashed when on sidewalks

- In addition to this, the owners must abide by the rules and regulations provided by the beach officials in order to prevent fines
