What are the Road Rules to Be Followed When Driving to Chicago
Post in: Road Trip Chicago
Driving in Chicago is on the right. The speed limits are different for different motorways. The maximum speed limit is generally 55mph or 90kmph. This at some spots is even 70mph or 110kph.
Residential areas in the town can have speed limits as slow as 30kph (20mph), with specified and displayed limits near schools and other such places. It is illegal to pass a yellow 'School Bus' when its red lights are flashing.
It is permissible to turn right at a red light after making a complete stop, unless specified. Seat belts are essential by law for front-seat passengers and, within the city limits. So always beware of this when you're driving in Chicago!
