The local ice hockey team based in Chicago suburbs is known as Chicago Wolves. The professional team plays in American Hockey League and train-up for games in AllState Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The team is owned by Buddy Meyers and Don Levin. The team was established in 1994 - 95 whose current head coach is Done Lever.

There are several affiliates for this ice hockey team namely Gwinnett Gladiators and Atlanta Thrashers. The local team has won Calder Cup during 2002 & 2008 and has appeared six times in championship finals during their sixteen years history. In addition, Local Wolves has lifted Turner Cup twice in 1998 and 2000 in Ice Hockey League.
