Chicago Holidays in 2010 Given by the Public Building Commission

The Public Building Commission has provided a list of holidays in 2010 which the city should observe. These holidays represent a special significance, and hence a holiday is marked by it. Some of the holidays in 2010 are:
- Ney Year day
- Memorial Day
- Columbus Day etc
Among these, the Columbus Day falls on Oct 11th this year. This Day usually falls on the second Monday in the month of October and it is marked to pay a tribute to the first voyage of Christopher Columbus to America in 1492. Th history of this holiday can be dated back to the year 1792 when it was first celebrated.
