Douglas Park is a big Park located at Chicago Park District and it is the cultural and community center in Chicago, Illinois. The park is named after US Senator Stephen A. Douglas who expired in 1861. Before the recent naming, The Park was named as South Park.
From the date of its opening the park was considered as a great place for recreation. Presently, it has a golf course, five playgrounds of different sizes, an outdoor swimming pool, basketball courts, soccer fields, and an oval shaped running track. The native flora and fauna of this park include a lagoon, different varieties of trees, and a beautiful stone bridge from its old days.

The park is located at Chicago, 1401 S. Sacramento, Illinois 60623, and there is no entry fee to enter the park. It remains open from dawn till dusk and for all seven days in a week. Built on 1928, the duo architect of this park was Rognstad and Michaelsen.
