The Museum of Science and Industry is a very popular museum of Chicago that showcases different aspects of science which affects our everyday life. Built in 1926 by Julius Rosenwald, the owner of the Sears chain of departmental store, the museum has over 800 exhibits and more than 2000 3D theaters and interactive units which attract more than 2 million visitors every year.

The Museum of Science and Industry is spread over 3,500 sq feet and the exhibits are displayed in 75 different halls. One of the most prominent and spectacular exhibits is the Coal Mine which recreates a typical 1933 coal mine of Illinois and is constructed with some original equipment and machineries. Another popular exhibit is the U 505 German Submarine. The visitors can experience being inside a real submarine which makes this exhibit equally popular among children and adults.

The Science Storms is a popular interactive unit that displays to the visitors the physics and science behind tornados, flames, waves, lightning, avalanches, and fires. This is a permanent exhibit with timed entry tickets. Among the 3D theaters, the Legends of Flights is a favorite among most visitors. This movie takes the audience through the history of aviation industry with a virtual reality experience of flying a 787 Dreamliner.
