Fall, though short in Chicago, sees the best time throughout a year for the city, when the weather is moderate and crisp, and humidity is comfortable.
Each fall, from early September, Chicago begins to turn cool with a diversity of festivals and events, transforming into an entertainment hub for event goers and family vacationers. No matter it is weekday or weekend, Chicago will keep you engaged with something, maybe live concerts, free movie screenings, dancing parties, or market fairs. It is no wonder that people often acclaim Chicago as an ideal city to live in.
When it comes to this Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17, it's time for this year's Guinness Oyster Fest! Thanks a lot that both days are clear and sunny, with temperatures ranging from mid 60°F to 50°F, impeccable for this outdoor spree!
You may get wowed to know this year's fest will be expanded into two days, while the former years only saw a single day of it. This annual event will take place at 6pm to 10pm on Friday, and 11am to 10pm on Saturday, at 2000 W. Roscoe Street, just within Chicago's Roscoe Village neighborhood.
Just as its name implies, this event features plenty of fresh oysters and beer. Village Tap Bar & Grill, Chicago's top-rated beer house, will offer raw and cooked oyster on site to complement Guinness and other beer brands by Diageo. Also on the fest menu are the live music performances by those celebrated 80's and 90's artists, such as California alt-rockers Alien Ant Farm, Canadian synthpop/New Wavers Men Without Hats and British electro-popsters The Human League.
It is notable that on Saturday, a second stage will be established at Damen for a combination of Irish music and dance, featuring dancers The Cunningham's & Friends, Irish-American rockers The Chancey Brothers, and Dublin folk singer George Murphy.
