Attractions in Lakeview

There is much to witness on your vacation to Lakeview, it is the home of Chicago cubs and you might be lucky to catch them playing at Wrigley field. Next to the Wrigley field is one of the well known gay villages in the United States, on every last Sunday of the month the largest gay parades, Chicago Pride Parade, performs here at the Lakeview. The town also hosts many events such as in 2006 the town was the host to the Gay Games V11. This is an international sports and cultural festival for the Gay Community. Lakeview referred too as Boystown is the first gay village that is recognized officially by a civic body in the United States.

Park Place Tower is one other attraction. Its the largest building in Chicago outside the down town area of Chicago. It is a fifty six story nine hundred unit tower. This tower has won several awards including the British Columbia Gold Medal Award of Excellence in 2002.

On a strip of Lincoln Park land facing the junction of West Addison Street and the North Lake Shore Drive is the totem pole of Kwanusila, the thunderbird of the Kwagu Amerindian tribe. It consists of a plaque below it with some writings. This pole is considered a tourist attraction and many people come to look at it.
