Tribune Tower in Chicago is located on N Michigan Avenue, close to the popular attractions like Navy Pier and Chicago Children's Museum. Tribune Tower is a symbol of architecture excellence that lies interspersed within the city's urban landscape. Home to Chicago's famous newspaper, Chicago Tribune, it is also the broadcast station of radio channel WGN (at 720 kHz). It also houses the Chicago bureau of CNN.

The building came up as a result of a renowned competition that the newspaper company held for building its headquarters. The event was a high publicity stunt and one of the biggest achievements of architects John Mead Howells and Raymond Hood, who designed the unique neo-gothic architecture. After they won the deal and the construction began in 1923, the news was spreading to the rest of the world, as their style became one of the most widely established design tactics.

The neo-gothic style of architecture and the building's stature has given it a huge recognition through pop culture as well. Batman's latest, The Dark Knight was partly shot in the basement of the building, where we see the sprawling Batcave, Batman's laboratory of sophisticated weapons and gadgets.

The Tribune Tower also featured in television series episodes of CSI: NY, titled One Wedding and a Funeral and The Thing about Heroes. The building is also part of The Tonight Show casting. Tribune Tower has been an impressive architecture influencing buildings in Australia. The Grace Building in Sydney and Manchester Unity Building in Melbourne are close designs.
