Horse racing is a widely held sport in the suburbs of Chicago. Located in at the Arlington Heights, the horse race track of the Arlington Park has been a host for several races. The history of this ancient park starts from 1927, when it was founded by Harry D. Brown.
Many people turn up for the racing events and you can find several men and women enjoying the sport with equal enthusiasm. It is at this park that the first ever million dollar thoroughbred horse race was held, which was later named as The Arlington Million, in 1981.
The capacity of this park is more than 50,000 and about two thousand horses can be kept in the stables at the Arlington. The park has even hosted the Breeder's Cup championship in 2002. Apart from the Arlington Million, there are two other top grade stakes played here, Secretariat D. Stakes and Beverly D. Stakes. The next grade stakes is known as American Derby, and there is a long list of low grade stakes, of which Arlington Classic and Arlington Oaks are very popular.
The admission fee at the Arlington varies from online booking to the at the Gate booking. The online is cheaper compared to the onsite booking. It would cost about $4 for an adult online, whereas it would cost $6 at the Gate, on Thursday; while on weekends, the cost of each ticket increases by $2.
