Wicker Park

Wicker Park is a beautiful urban park located in the amazing city of Chicago, Illinois and is named after the famous Joel H. Wicker and Charles G. Wicker. Both Joel H. Wicker and Charles G. Wicker donated the 4 acres space of land to City Of Chicago in the year 1870. Later the City of Chicago set up the small reservoir inside triangular park.

In the year 1890, the west Park Commission totally filled in reservoir and also replaced it with a lawn. Many years later, the beautiful cut granite fountain was specially installed in the Wicker Park. The fountain was featured with the outer basic that's till exists along with the fabulous ornamentation as well as floral urns.

In the year 1908, Jens Jensen, the West Park System Superintendent ultimate removed cast iron fountain and then replaced it with the jet spray thereby converting fountain into the kid's wading pool. Jens Jensen even built the pergolas and even planted the extra shrubs and trees in this Wicker Park.

Then, in the year 1934, the West Park Commission was ultimately consolidated into Chicago Park District. The District later installed the fantastic field house in the Wicker PARK, Chicago in the year 1985.
